SOUTHWEST ALASKA ECOSYSTEMS: National Park Visitation Tops 327 Million in 2019

Southwest Alaska Ecosystem issued the following announcement on Feb. 27.

America’s national parks continue to be popular destinations for visitors. With 327.5 million recreation visits, 2019 was the third highest year for visitation. In fact, visitation in 2019 surpassed 2018 by more than 9 million! Did you visit a national park area in 2019?

Top Ten Most Visited National Park Service Sites:

Golden Gate National Recreation Area, CA , 15 million

Blue Ridge Parkway, NC, VA, 14.9 million

Great Smoky Mountains National Park, TN, 12.5 million

Gateway National Recreation Area, NY, NJ, 9.4 million

Lincoln Memorial (National Mall and Memorial Parks) 7.8 million

George Washington Memorial Parkway , DC, MD, VA, 7.5 million

Lake Mead National Recreation Area - National Park Service , AZ, NV, 7.5 million

Natchez Trace Parkway, AL, MS, TN, Parkway 6.3 million

Grand Canyon National Park , AZ, 5.97 million

Gulf Islands National Seashore ,FL, MS, 5.6 million
