Census Bureau: 5.9% of people in Lake And Peninsula Borough identified as multi-racial in 2019

Medium names 20

Of the 1,393 citizens living in Lake And Peninsula Borough in 2019, 94.1 percent said they were only one race, while 5.9 percent said they were two or more races, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained in February.

Of those who said they were one race, the majority identified as american indian or alaskan native.

An agency of the U.S. Federal Statistical System, the Census Bureau is responsible for compiling statistical facts about the American people, places and economy. Data for this story was compiled from the bureau’s American Community Survey. Information from the survey helps to determine how federal and state funds are distributed.

Statistical data for 2020 will be released later this year.
