City of Dillingham issued the following announcement on March 11.
BBAHC's Kanakanak Hospital cannot receive incoming GCI cellular calls at this time, due to a GCI cellular service issue. GCI is aware of the issue and working to resolve it.
As a temporary measure to enable GCI cellular callers to reach us in an emergency, callers are advised to dial: (907) 843-3700. BBAHC will relay calls to City of Dillingham Public Safety Department as needed.
The GCI service issue is impacting cellular calls made to landlines only. Landline to landline calls and cell phone to cell phone calls appear to be working. BBAHC will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as soon as we have them.
