Census Bureau: 6.6% of people in Bethel City identified as multi-racial in 2020

Of the 6,548 citizens living in Bethel City in 2020, 93.4 percent said they were only one race, while 6.6 percent said they were two or more races, according to U.S. Census Bureau data obtained in March.

Of those who said they were one race, the majority identified as american indian or alaskan native.

An agency of the U.S. Federal Statistical System, the Census Bureau is responsible for compiling statistical facts about the American people, places and economy. Data for this story was compiled from the bureau’s American Community Survey. Information from the survey helps to determine how federal and state funds are distributed.

Statistical data for 2021 will be released later this year.
