How many lawyers were eligible to practice law in cities in Kodiak Island Borough in November compared to previous month?

Cities in Kodiak Island Borough recorded a growth in the number of lawyers with active licenses in November compared to the previous month, according to the Alaska Bar Association.

In total, there were 17 active legal licenses registered in cities in Kodiak Island Borough in November, compared to 16 in the previous month.

Out of the active licenses in cities in Kodiak Island Borough, all of them were granted in the city of Kodiak.

Alaska has no law schools, yet it maintains a higher-than-average ratio of lawyers compared to the relatively low overall population. In Alaska, there are now 2,486 attorneys actively practicing law and a total of 4,160 lawyers licensed to practice in the state.

As of January, 2024, the average salary for a lawyer in Alaska was around $110,383 per year.

Data refers to all lawyers who were actively practicing during this period.
