Southwest Alaska Department of Fish and Game issued the following announcement on March 3.

ADF&G would like to thank the residents of Anchorage for making the 2020 Anchorage Moose Survey a success. This year we had over 900 moose sighting reports! This helped guide ADF&G teams to a total of 216 samples collected during the three day survey, with teams driving all over town and hiking over 40 miles of green space in the Anchorage Bowl. Once results are received from the lab analysis, we will be able to determine how many individual moose were sampled during this year’s survey and compare it to previous years.
Thank you again for your support and participation in the Anchorage moose survey!
