Southwest Alaska Energy issued the following announcement on March 11.
The Southwest Alaska Municipal Conference (SWAMC) is applying for a third round of funding from the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Energy Development Assistance (REDA) grant program. This will allow us to continue providing low-cost energy audits and grant assistance to commercial fishers and small businesses. The program will be offered to commercial fishers and businesses anywhere in Alaska.* In Round 3, we will continue our focus on commercial fishing vessel upgrades and add in heat pump conversions for land-based businesses.
So far, the SWAMC Energy Program has helped commercial fishers and other Alaska small business owners receive $54,000 this year! If you are interested in receiving a low-cost energy audit and grant assistance to apply for the USDA Rural Energy for America Program (REAP) grant, which covers 25% of energy efficiency upgrade costs, please contact us at energy@swamc.org or call (907) 450-2450.
*Does not include the Municipality of Anchorage.
